Hardware at TRACTIAN

The Hardware team is responsible for designing and improving our IoT devices, dealing with every step of the development process, ranging from PCB design, firmware programming, case design, validations and certifications, always aiming to build trustworthy products that can be produced at a mass scale.


What you'll do

As an R&D Metrology Analyst, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of measurements, handling, and interpretation of both analog and digital measuring instruments, as well as working with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and optical measurement projectors (OMP). Your duties will include the detailed documentation of alignment methods, results obtained, and all technical content associated with the projects. You will lead inspections and analyses, ensuring rigorous quality standards during the Research and Development phases to guarantee that products meet all specifications before advancing to the production line. With constant interaction with the R&D team, you should work with agility and precision to keep up with the dynamic pace of ongoing projects. Your expertise will significantly contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional IoT solutions for industries worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Perform measurements with an optical projector.

  • Conduct precise three-dimensional measurements on parts and components.

  • Interpret technical drawings with high GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) complexity.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary Engineering team on quality control and improvement projects.

  • Prepare inspection reports, indicating the strategies and methods used.

  • Inspect components in approval batches.

  • Handle and document measurements using equipment such as calipers, internal and external micrometers, height gauges, Go/No-Go gauges, and related tools.

  • Organize and maintain the laboratory.

  • Maintain stock of consumables, tools, and raw materials.

  • Verify technical drawings and collaborate with requesting teams to improve documentation.

Requirements

  • Technical course in Metrology, intermediate-level GD&T, CMM Operation course, or related fields.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, hardness testers, surface roughness testers, dial indicators, test indicators.

  • Proficiency in Office Suite (Word and Excel) or GSuite (Google Sheets and Google Docs).

Bonus Points

  • Experience as a Metrology Technician.

  • Experience working with Research and Development (R&D) teams.

  • Experience operating CMM and OMM.

  • Operational knowledge of PC-DMIS software (Hexagon).

  • Basic knowledge of 3D modeling tools (CAD).

  • Reading proficiency in English.
