What will you do

As a Hardware Test Engineer specializing in Mechanics, your primary role will involve conducting rigorous mechanical testing and validation on a variety of hardware products. You will be hands-on in the lab, applying principles of mechanics to assess durability, lifespan, and functionality, ensuring all mechanical components operate effectively under specified conditions and comply with all regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute detailed mechanical test plans, including stress tests, vibration tests, and thermal cycling to evaluate product endurance.

  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and force gauges to gather accurate test data.

  • Simulate real-world mechanical stresses using test rigs, hydraulic actuators, and environmental chambers.

  • Analyze test results, identify mechanical failures, and collaborate with design engineers to recommend product improvements.

  • Maintain meticulous documentation of all testing procedures, results, and insights for future reference and compliance purposes.

  • Ensure all mechanical testing equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operating correctly.

  • Stay up-to-date with the mechanical testing methodologies and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a mechanical testing environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, materials properties, and manufacturing processes.

  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, for reviewing mechanical designs.

  • Experience with scripting languages, like Python and MATLAB.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis software like Excel.

  • Familiarity with industry standards for mechanical testing and compliance.

Bonus Points

  • Advanced certifications in mechanical testing or material science.

  • Experience with automated testing systems and robotic testing equipment.

  • Fluent in English.

COMPENSATION

  • • Competitive salary and stock options

  • • Optional fully funded English / Spanish courses
