Hardware at TRACTIAN

The Hardware team is responsible for designing and improving our IoT devices, dealing with every step of the development process, ranging from PCB design, firmware programming, case design, validations and certifications, always aiming to build trustworthy products that can be produced at a mass scale.


What you'll do

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Tractian, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality standards for our hardware products and solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure that our products meet rigorous quality requirements and exceed customer expectations. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying and collaborating with suppliers who share our commitment to excellence, further enhancing our supply chain efficiency and ensuring the consistent quality of our NPIs. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of delivering exceptional IIoT solutions to industries worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new suppliers and validate new technologies to enhance product quality and performance.

  • Participate in the design review process to provide insights on potential quality concerns and ensure design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM and DFA).

  • Collaborate with the design and quality teams to define quality standards, specifications, and inspection criteria for mechanical components and assemblies.

  • Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.

  • Participate in the NPI of new sensors and technologies.

  • Work closely with the production team to support process validation and ensure consistency in manufacturing processes.

  • Enable new features to our products by developing new manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 

  • Experience with Engineering Projects and Manufacturing Techniques.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience with inspection techniques, metrology, GD&T, and non-destructive testing methods.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead root cause analysis investigations.

  • Reading and Writing English proficiency.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Injection molding, CNC machining, and other manufacturing processes.

  • Experience in extra curricular activities such as Baja or Formula SAE.

  • Experience with ERP and PLM softwares.
